The Board removed Judy Dwyer as the park Treasurer and chose Sherry Underwood from Ward 2 as her replacement. Sherry will act as Treasurer until the September election.

There will be a meeting on February 27th, hosted by the Lake County Health Dept Lakes Management Unit to discuss the data that was collected on Slocum Lake last summer, as well as several other lake issues. Adrienne Davis, B.S., M.S., Water Quality Specialist  will be covering :

* Water quality issues  * The plant sampling that was done around the lake * Some background on the lake  * Plant Management  * and general question and answers.

The main focus of the meeting will be the plant management part of the meeting. There are several ways to try to control invasive species of plants and several methods of control will be discussed.

 

The meeting on will start at 7:00 PM and will be held at the Island Lake village Hall  located on Greenleaf Ave. just North of Rt. 176 in Island Lake. You can visit the Lakes Management website at:

The Board will be discussing the budget for 2006 at the next meeting and will start to plan this years projects. There will no doubt be road work done and some improvements that are needed at Viscount Hall. Other things that will be discussed are tree issues – some Pumphouse issues and improvements to the sides of the roads that are needed.

We would like to welcome them to the Board.

We have a very good Board with a lot of new ideas and we are looking to make some major improvements in the coming months, not only in the way the park looks – but with its functionality and efficient use of people’s time as well.
