The Second Amendment is the only regulation the federal government needs in its law arsenal. Vast numbers of gun laws are not working to protect the average American. In fact, the fewer guns there are in private hands, the more violent crimes there are that get committed.
Gun laws put honest citizens at a disadvantage to armed criminals. Armed murderers do not obey laws. Why would they obey a gun registration or licensing law?
By eliminating all federal laws the states can experiment each with its own brand of gun control. Then we can compare programs and learn. One state boldly tried “concealed carry” laws, others followed and the results were stunning . We would never have learned had we only had a “one law fits all” system.

The Second Amendment, fundamentally, is not about Target Shooting. It is not about Hunting. It is not even about warding off burglars.
The Second Amendment is just the Second Article, of ten, in the Bill of Rights. Like all the amendments in the Bill of Rights , the Second Amendment is about protection from oppressive government .
What is a Right but the naturally vested power to exercise a responsibility or duty. (If you don't have a responsibility, you won't have the rights associated with it. If you don't want to lose your rights, then don't give up your responsibilities!) You have a duty, a responsibility, to keep this Country free.
Thus, I believe, you have a duty to keep a gun and be ready to use it should the necessity arise . That's why the Founders of this Country added the Second Amendment to the Constitution.
They put it there for liberty. They put it there for us.
And none of us should do less than use it.
