EDUCATION

The federal government really should be removed from education.  There is a misconception among educators that an education system must be homogenous throughout the country; that a national government must set some sort of universal standard.  This is patently untrue and only stultifies the progress of education.

The closer education gets to home, the better, more personalized and customized it gets for the child.  Home schooling is probably the ultimate form of education, at least at the beginning level.

We certainly need to get the federal government entirely out of education.  There is no constitutional provision for federal involvement in education.  And federal programs such as Goals 2000 have been disastrous, if not dangerous, not only to the education of our young, but the future of this country.

By eliminating this federal financial burden, federal taxes can be reduced leaving the money with the state or local governments, or the family to better work with education at those levels.
