WHamExam 1.6 is Here!
WHamExam Version 2 isn't quite ready yet, but that hasn't stopped the FCC from releasing new question pools!
The Novice, Tech, General and Extra question pools in HamExam 1 are now obsolete.
In order to keep HamExam users in business while we work on Version 2, we've decided on an interim release.
Outwardly, Version 1.6 doesn't look much different than Version 1, but lots of internal changes were made to accomodate
the new Extra format, and the Novice/Tech RF Safety tables. The user will notice a couple of changes, however:
- New Extra, Novice, General and Tech question pools and figures.
- Question Pool expiration dates appear in program title bar.

HamExam 1.6 right now!
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you already have HamExam Version 1
installed on your hard drive, do not install Version
1.6 on top of it. Either delete the entire directory where Version 1 is installed before you run the setup
program for version 1.5, or install the new version to a different directory.
- Click on any of the DOWNLOAD links
on this page. You will receive a single archive file called HamExam.zip (about 1 MB in size, takes
about 10 minutes to download at 28.8 Kbps)
- Extract the files from the archive onto a floppy disk or temporary directory, using
a program like Winzip
- If you have HamExam 1 installed on your hard drive, delete its directory (usually C:\Hamexam)
before installing Version 1.5
- Run the program called Setup.exe. It will install HamExam onto your hard drive,
and create the proper program group icons
