Do Tupperware Consultants have to sell a certain amount each month?
You only need $250 in sales every 4 months in order to stay active. However, if you should become inactive due to lack of Tupperware sales activity, we can always reactivate your Tupperware Consultant account for only $10 (subject to change). CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE (PDF)

Do Tupperware Consultants have to attend meetings?
No, you do not have to attend any Tupperware meetings. You will get all the training & support you need online at our Tupperware web-based meetings.

Can I still join your Tupperware unit if I live in another state?
Yes, we have Tupperware Consultants located all across the country. You will have everything you need to run your Tupperware business regardless of where you live.

How much money do Tupperware Consultants make?
You will be paid commissions and bonuses on your Tupperware® sales. You will receive 25% commission on all of your Tupperware® sales PLUS you will receive a 5% bonus when your monthly sales reach $1200 or a 10% bonus when your monthly sales reach $3200. In addition to your cash earnings, as a Tupperware Consultant you will also have an opportunity each month to earn free gifts from Tupperware.

Do I have to recruit other Consultants into the business?
No, you don't have to build a team of Tupperware Consultants but if you do, you will earn additional income from your team sales.

How do I earn trips?
Trip incentives vary each year. As a Tupperware Consultant, you will learn about the requirements you must meet in order to earn a Tupperware sales force trip.

Do Tupperware Consultants get discounts on Tupperware® purchases?
You will be able to purchase Tupperware® at 25% off the retail prices. In addition, each month Tupperware offers the Consultant an opportunity to purchase a selection of new products at 35% off.

How do I place orders for my Tupperware customers?
Tupperware has a toll-free number you can use to place your Tupperware® orders, or you can go to "My Sales" online at the website we provide to enter your Tupperware® orders manually. It's fast, easy, and very convenient!

How do my Tupperware customers pay for their orders?
Tupperware customers can make payment by personal check, credit card, or cash. They pay you directly and then you pay Tupperware, keeping commission from the sale upfront.

How do I get Tupperware catalogs?
Your Tupperware Consultant kit will contain a packet of current Tupperware catalogs. Once those run out, you can order more at the Tupperware sales force website or you can call the toll free number for Tupperware customer care to place an order by phone.

How do I find out what Tupperware® products are on sale and which are on back order or discontinued?
All of our customer, host, and consultant promotions are updated regularly and listed on the Tupperware website which you will be able to access after you join. Tupperware® product updates are also found on the website. As a Tupperware Consultant, you will have access to this information 24/7. A Tupperware® sale event or special promotion will be at your fingertips.

Can I do only fundraising, or only bridal showers, or just recruiting?
If there is an area of the Tupperware Consultant business opportunity that appeals to you, you can definitely work exclusively in that area. We have several Tupperware Consultants and Tupperware Managers who work solely in the area of fundraising or bridal consulting and have never hosted a Tupperware party. However, we do recommend you conduct your first "Grand Opening" Tupperware party to get your business off the ground. This will give you an opportunity to introduce family and friends to your new Tupperware business. You may find you really enjoy the Tupperware party experience... and you may recruit a new Consultant under you who is also looking to supplement her income.

Tupperware was developed in 1945 by Earl Tupper (1907-1983) and comprised of plastic containers used in households to contain food and keep it airtight. The formerly patented "burping seal" is a famous aspect of Tupperware, which distinguished it from competitors.

Tupperware pioneered the direct marketing strategy made famous by the Tupperware party. Brownie Wise, a former sales representative of Stanley Home Products, developed the strategy. During the early 1950s, Tupperware's sales and popularity exploded, thanks in large part to Wise's influence among women who sold Tupperware, and some of the famous "jubilees" celebrating the success of Tupperware ladies at lavish and outlandishly themed parties. Tupperware was known, at a time when women came back from working during World War II only to be told to "go back to the kitchen", as a method of empowering women, and giving them a toehold in the post-war business world. The tradition of Tupperware's "Jubilee" style events continues to this day, with rallies being held in major cities to recognise and reward top-selling consultants, managers and directors.

In 1958, Earl Tupper fired Brownie Wise over general difference of opinion in the Tupperware business operation. It is believed that Tupper objected to the expenses incurred by the Tupperware jubilee and other similar celebrations of Tupperware.

Tupperware spread to Europe in 1960 when Mila Pond hosted a Tupperware party in Weybridge, England, and subsequently round the world. Tupperware is now sold in almost 100 countries in the world, the top five consumers of Tupperware being: 1. Germany 2. USA 3. Mexico 4. France 5. Australia

Production has been announced on a feature film version of the Tupperware story, called "Tupperware!", due for release in 2007. The script is by Jim Taylor who won an Academy Award in 2005 for his script for Sideways. Co-producer is Laurie Kahn-Leavitt who produced, wrote and directed the 2004 Tupperware documentary feature of the same name made for the American Experience strand on PBS in the US, and screened in cinemas around the world.

A Tupperware party is run by a Tupperware consultant in the home (or sometimes the workplace) of a host who invites friends and neighbors into their home to see the Tupperware product line. Tupperware hosts are rewarded with free products based on the level of sales made at their Tupperware party.

In most countries, Tupperware's sales force is organized in a multi-level marketing structure with consultants at the bottom, managers over them, and directors at the top level. However, Tupperware differs significantly from most multi-level marketing companies in that high-level managers must be invited by the company before becoming a distributor, as distributorship opportunities are limited and controlled by the company. Most Tupperware distributorships are run by married couples.
