Dusty's Biography
"Dusty" Nall was born in Bruce, Mississippi
in 1930.
He started playing music at the age
of 4. He came from a family of musicians.
His father and brothers and sisters
(12 of them) played and sang country,
folk and gospel songs.
In addition to playing the steel guitar, Dusty has many other
talents including being
a B.M.I. songwriter, a singer, playing lead guitar, mandolin,
bass dobro and fiddle.
Then when the Army called, Dusty joined with his brother
Curly Nall.
They went to Japan performing in special services in Tokyo.
He and his brother traveled the far east playing service
clubs with the U.S.O. tours.
After his discharge from the Army, he moved to Memphis,
Tennessee.
He has played steel guitar for such artists as The Louvin
Brothers, Slim Whitman and
Ernest Tubb. He has also worked with other Nashville
performers like Del Reeves,
Claude King, The Wilburn Brothers, Jimmy Dickens and many
more.
Dusty moved to Joliet, Illinois in 1958.
He has been working with many local bands ever since.
He married his wife, Edna, in 1962.
They have 9 children, 18 grand children and 5 great-grand
children.
Dusty has written and recorded numerous songs such as
'Country Soul', 'Push'
and 'Heartland
Express'
which all feature his wonderful steel guitar style.
