Well, where do I start?  I guess the beginning is a good place!  My name is Don Humphrey, and I was born in Conneaut, Ohio, 11 June 1966.  The picture to the left is the farm where I grew up, located near Conneaut.  We lived there until 1975 before moving to the Ashtabula, Ohio, area.  I have one sister, Bonnie (my eldest sibling), and two brothers, Alan (older) and Paul (younger).  My parents, Bonnie, and Alan (and family) reside in Western Pennsylvania, where we moved in 1980; Paul moved to Maryland in the middle of 2000 to live with his fiancée Julia.  For more about my family, see the My Family page.

In my early years, I attended Monroe Elementary School near Conneaut, Ohio until we moved to Ashtabula (while I was in the 4th grade).  In Ashtabula, I attended Ridgeview Elementary and Braden Junior High Schools.  When we moved to Pennsylvania, I finished my last four years of school at Lakeview High School in Stoneboro.

I then moved to Illinois on New Year's Day 1997.  Here, I lived in Waukegan for nearly 3 years – the longest I lived any one place since moving away to college all those years ago.  Then I lived in Beach Park (between Waukegan and Zion) for about 16 months. I expect to be living in my current residence for many, many years.

After many years at McDonald's and a couple years in retail, I believe I've finally found the job for which I am most suitable.  I have been working since May 1999 as an Administrative Assistant at Motorola in Northbrook, Illinois.  I love what I do and the people for whom I work.   Finally, after years of working on my feet, working nights and weekends, and dealing with customers on a daily basis, I now work Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  It's nice to have a "real job!"
