Are you home with the kids and need a little break for you and something different for them to do? Then our story hour is the answer!

WHEN?WHERE?WHAT?
WHO?WHY?HOW?

WHEN

DAYTIME STORY HOUR
meets every Wednesday and Thursday,
October through April
from 10:30AM - 11:30AM on Wednesdays, and from 1:00-2:00 on Thursdays
Our season of stories and fun begins the first week of October and ends the last week of April. Sign up usually begins in August, for the new season. Call or stop in at the circulation desk for more details.

WHERE

We meet in the library's community room.
We sit on the floor for the stories and move to the tables when we do the crafts and have our treats.
Sometimes we even go outside! Once a year we go on a field trip.

WHAT

HERE'S WHAT WE DO at the daytime story hours: We start the hour with "show and tell."
We have several stories read or told to us.
Songs and games are also a part of our hour.
A craft that goes along with the theme for the day follows the story.
Finally, the part everyone likes the best - TREATS! Mothers take turns bringing these.

WHO

Our story hour is open to all children of the community. However because of the nature of the programs, we do have an age limit on them.
Daytime story hour is for children ages 3-5 (2 year olds are also accepted if they turn 3 before January 1).

WHY

There are alot of reasons why you may want to make use of our Story Hour!

HOW

If you would like your child to attend one of the Daytime Story Hours, please call or come to the library and let us know ahead of time. We will never refuse a child admittance, but we do appreciate knowing at least a little bit beforehand so that we can be adequately prepared.

WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT OUR SUMMER READING PROGRAM?!

Every summer for 6 or 7 weeks we have a special program for children ages 3-12 which we call our "summer reading program." This program is designed to promote reading over the summer months, while giving the children something different to do besides watching tv. The theme for the 2003 was "Laugh it Up at the Library!" This year our theme will be The Magical World of Reading. The children earn prizes by reading books. A variety of special programs are always offered during this 6 week program. Check here for more info! The Magical World of Reading
