COMMUNITY ROOM RENTAL
Our Community Room is a great place to have your meetings, parties, clubs and showers.
It seats about 65 comfortably and we provide the tables and chairs for your use. A small charge of $50 is required at the time of rental (unless it is a
non-profit organization), $20 of which is refunded if the condition of the room is satisfactory after the event. Please note that this is a new charge. The floor of the
community room is brand new. The carpet was taken out and a hardwood floor put in. Please help keep this
floor looking nice by being careful when moving tables and chairs and by wiping up spills immediately with a damp cloth. For more information or to reserve a date, inquire at the circulation desk, or call 463-6382.
MICHICARD PROGRAM
There are over 276 participant libraries in this volunteer program.
It is designed to make libraries and their collections across the state of Michigan more accessible to the
general population. A patron must obtain a Michicard from his or her home library. Once obtained the patron
may check out materials from any of the participating libraries. To obtain a library card from the Watervliet
Library, you must show proof of residence in Watervliet city, township, or Bainbridge township. Ask about it at
the circulation desk. This program is sponsored by the Library of Michigan.
TRI-CITY RECORD BACK TO THE 1890'S
We have them in 2 forms: hard paper copy and microfilm. The paper copies, although bound into books
are getting very fragile and are very awkward to use because of their size. However, we have just recently purchase a brand new
mircrofilm reader/printer. It is very user friendly, but a staff person will be glad to give you any assistance you may need
when using it. Come in and try it out! It is great for genealogy research, local history, or just browsing.
RESERVING A BOOK
If the book you are looking for is currently in circulation, just make a request at the circulation
desk that it be put on hold for you. We will enter your name in the computer and when that book is returned, the computer will automatically
let us know who is next on the list for it.
ONLINE INTERLOAN
If you have Internet access at home or are using our public access station, you can easily request an interloan, and/or find out
if our library or another library owns the book you are looking for. To request an
interloan, please observe the following guidelines: When it asks for a user name type the word guest
Then click on the button that says "go." This will bring up a search screen. where you may type in your title, author or subject, or click on the browse button to access more ways to search.
After finding the exact book that you want, click on the words "request this item" and fill out the form
(you may use whatever password you wish). Please fill out the rest of the form completely and click on 'Submit.' We will take it from there! Try it! interlibrary loan
MEMORIALS AND OTHER DONATIONS AND CONTRIBUTIONS
A receipt is given for tax purposes and the money goes toward new books or other needed projects. At the present
time, all donations are going toward a microfilm reader/printer for the library.
INTERNET ACCESS
We now have 5 work stations with computer Internet access! You must read through our policy on the use of them and sign a compliance statement
the first time you use one of these stations. After that you just have to sign up each time you come in to use the computers. If no one is waiting you may stay on it for as long as you like (providing we are open, of course!). If, however, there is
someone waiting, your time is limited to 1/2 hour.
No Downloading to a floppy disk unless it is supplied by the library (at a $1 cost). Super disks are $2. No diskettes may be brought in to the library and used on these computers. Read the complete policy for further details.
