Richard G. Wells was born and raised in Brownsville, Pa. When the Korean
War broke out, he enlisted in the US Navy, went to the USN Photo School
at Pensacola Florida where he became an Aerial Photographer. Wells
served aboard the USS YORKTOWN CVA10 in Korea.

After his discharge from the Navy, he enlisted in the United States
Marine Corps.

Wells was employed by General Motors' Reliability Engineering for 33
years. After retiring, he taught photography for ten years in the Flint
Michigan school districts.

The book OVER THE SIDE, written by Richard and his wife Charlotte sold
out both printings. He is writing another, A BOY FROM BROWNSVILLE per
the request of the Brownsville Area Historical Society, which will be
available by January 2000.

Richard and Charlotte travel all through the "Lower Forty Eight" taking
pictures and writing stories for three magazines. Their special interest
is in endangered species and anything else that "looks good."

In addition to all the above, Wells is a active member of the Marine
Corps League in Flint Michigan and a co leader of the rifle team.
